Forwarding mail
Forwarding mail addressed to local users
If you have more than one mail server on your network, you can forward mail over TCP or AppleTalk from one mail server to users who connect to another mail server.
To set up mail forwarding over TCP:

Open Mac OS Server Admin and log on to the server you want to administer. |

Press the Users & Groups button and choose Show Users & Groups List. |

Double-click a user who connects to another mail server. |

Choose Mail Settings from the pop-up menu. |

Click the Forward button. |
6 |
Make sure the Internet Address button is selected. |
7 |
In the Internet Address box, type the e-mail address that will receive the mail. |
To set up mail forwarding over AppleTalk:

Open Mac OS Server Admin and log on to the server you want to administer. |

Press the Users & Groups button and choose Show Users & Groups List. |

Double-click a user who connects to another mail server. |

Choose Mail Settings from the pop-up menu. |

Click the Forward button. |
6 |
Click the AppleTalk button in the user window. |
7 |
In the User Name box, type the user or group that will receive the mail. |

The name must be in the Users & Groups List on the computer that will receive the mail. |

If your network has zones, click the Chooser button and select the zone and name of the mail server that will receive the mail. |
Forwarding misaddressed mail
You can forward incoming mail addressed to a user who does not exist in your local Users & Groups List. If you do not forward misaddressed mail, it is returned to the sender.
To forward misaddressed mail:

Open Mac OS Server Admin and log on to the server you want to administer. |

Press the Mail Services button and choose Mail Server Settings. |

Click the Mail In tab. |

Click the Users & Groups button. |
5 |
Drag the name of the user or group (who will receive the incoming mail) from the Users & Groups list to the Mail In panel. |

Select the "Forward mail addressed to unknown local users" checkbox. |
